Chronology of cameras Chinon
This Chinonflex TTL stands out in the brand's production because at the end of 60s, Chinon was a subcontractor for major brands but did not have cameras under its own name. It wasn't until the early 1970s that Chinon cameras became more prevalent.
This model was also sold by Foto-Quelle under the name Revue Superflex TTL, and then in 1972 as the Revueflex 1000S TTL.
According to McKeown, it can also be found under the names Kingflex TTL and Riaflex TTL.
The lens present on the photographed example was equipped with it when purchased. There is no guarantee that this is the original lens, which adds uncertainty to completing the technical specifications for the lens section.
In France, Chinon SLR cameras are less known and less common than those of other Japanese brands. This might be due to the brand's late arrival in the market and a delay in gaining recognition. However, Chinon regularly released new models from the early 70s until the late 80s, with a very good level of quality, ensuring full compatibility with M42 and later K mount lenses, at a very attractive price.
